Junior Business Development Associate - Concerts/Theater

The Junior Business Development Associate manages existing relationships with venues and primary ticketing sources. In addition, they are responsible for listing tickets for events, buying tickets on a daily basis to add to the company's inventory, and working toward growing our networks with teams, venues, and primary ticketing suppliers. Individuals in this position take a primary role in performing market research and following secondary market trends.

Successful candidates are self-starters who are fearless and will be enthusiastic about growing the business and committed to maintaining positive working relationships with primary market vendors in a fast-paced environment. An interest in live music, concerts, and/or Theater is strongly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

Development and Purchasing:

  • Purchase tickets from primary vendors
  • Make direct contact with primary ticketing sources
  • Maintain existing relationships with primary ticketing vendors and participate in networking to establish new business relationships
  • Become a subject matter expert and act as an adviser to the Purchasing team with the goal of expanding and optimizing future buys
  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client's organization
  • Research and build relationships with new clients
  • Set up meetings between client decision markers and company's practice leaders/Principals
  • Plan approaches and pitches
  • Work with team to develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through difference to a positive conclusion

Data Analysis:

  • Running current date reports to see overall performance of tickets
  • Work with numbers to determine profit margins
  • Interpret data to purpose confident ticket investment numbers in line with the company's goals and direction

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
